Copyediting standards seem pretty terrible at journals right now. For example, I'm reading a J. Med Chem article (10.1021/acs.jmedchem.5c03255) where someone has clearly done a 'find and replace' for "ki" -> italic(K)subscript(I) How does this stuff get through, these journals charge $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It doesn't just occur once, and I've seen similar errors quite frequently in recent times
