I also grew up with THE STRANGER on 8 track. My parents had it on vinyl, but my Dad knew a guy with an 8-track recorder (an uncommon piece of equipment!) and he dubbed LPs on bottom-shelf blank tapes from K-Mart so we could listen in our Suburban. Why do I still have this.

Also in Mom & Dad's 8-track heavy rotation in 1977: OUT OF THE BLUE (ELO) SIMPLE DREAMS (Linda Ronstadt) OL' WAYLON (Jennings) AJA (Steely Dan, who would think it's hilarious it was being played on a dubbed K-Mart tape)
