Hex-crawling Each hex has a biome and an event. Biomes are large areas of land, similar to a tile. They quickly tell the GM the type of land the goblins are traversing. Some examples are swamp, grassland, mountain, or cave. When the goblins are ready to leave the castle for their first mission, they will need to navigate the dangerous wilds. When the goblins enter a new hex: The GM rolls 1d6 for an Event: 1-2. A wild encounter or setback. 3-4. An encampment. 5-6. Nothing. Wild encounter is a wandering beast or NPC. A Setback is difficult weather or terrain. An Encampment is a gathering of NPCs. The GM rolls 1d6 for how far away the event is: 1-2. Close, 1 round away 3-4. Nearby, 2 rounds away 5-6. far away, 3 or more rounds away Fleeing When goblins need to leave a hex quickly, they make a Sneak check. On a 6, they are hidden. Forced march Goblin can choose to ignore a hex for the cost of 1 Food. Without food, the goblins become fatigued and they roll all checks with -1d until they rest or eat. Forage The goblins stay in a hex to gather food. They make a PEEK or CRAFT check. On a 6, they find 1 Food. On a critical success, they find 2. Resting at camp The goblins stay in a hex to recover 1d3 hit points and treat fatigue. The day changes to night, or vice versa. The GM makes a Luck roll to see if a wild creature or bad weather disturbs them. Scout ahead The goblins stay in a hex to reveal 3 nearby tiles or they gain adv for their next Skill or Save check when entering the next hex. Every 1d3 road tiles, the goblins see: A bandit or charlatan,A sage, A travellers, A bard, An imperial guard, A merchant's caravan or noble carriage Rumours can be lead to treasure, new locations, and lethal traps. When an NPC is revealing information or clues, the Game-master rolls a 1d6 to determine how the info is presented. To read if an NPC is lying, a goblin rolls a SWINDLE or a PEEK check. On a 6, the goblin learns if the rumour is completely false or not.

SCROLL of HYDROSHIELD School: Abjuration Save: -- D: A stream of water swirls around the caster. It dampens melee and ranged attacks by 1 dmg and extinguishes adjacent flames. Lasts 3 rounds.

GRAPPLE is using an action to grab a creature and hold on tight using a SCRAM check. While grappling, a goblin can use their movement to climb a creature’s body. This is helpful for scaling giants and large beasts. If a creature tries to escape or shake free, the goblin requires a TOUGH save. At the start of the goblin’s next turn, they can hold the grapple to do one of the following actions: HARM deals 2 dmg. RESTRAIN a small or medium creature to reduce their movement to 0 using a STRENGTH check. HINDER reduces a creature’s Skills and saves by 1. SILENCE a creature using a STRENGTH check to stop them from speaking, triggering an alarm, or casting spells. SLEEP is knocking a creature unconscious using a STRENGTH check. The check is easy if the creature is demoralized.

An introduction to the goblin rpg
HOW TO PLAY - COULD I EXPLAIN THIS TO MY KIDS? The Goblinhood requires three to five friends sitting around the table, each equipped with a handful of six sided dice. One person takes on the role of the Game-master, GM for short. Their job is control the world, while everyone else plays as goblins trying to destroy that world in exchange for gold and glory for the goblin throne. The game starts with the Game-master describing where in the world the goblins are, this is called setting up the scene. It is helpful to have a map of the area to help the players visualize their surrounding easier, but it is not mandatory to play. The players then decide which goblin will act first. Each goblin will have a turn to do something, called an action, and move themselves around the map. An action should be declared with simple language, so the GM can quickly decide how easy the action is to complete. “I want to attack the dragon with my frying pan.” “I want to climb the cliffs of a thousand screams” “I want to grab the gold idol from the pedestal and run far away” In this game of make-believe, an action is a combination of improvising the situation and what the goblins have nearby. The game is a back and forth between the Game-master and the players, each side reacting to the other to create an ever changing story. The sum of these stories is called a campaign.
Describing a room When the goblins enter a new room, The Game-master should describe immediately noticeable features: • 3 adjectives to describe the scene • Landmarks: Furnishings, obstacles, barricades. Anything can be crawled under or jumped on. • Denizens: Any observable creatures in the room and their activities • Movement and sounds • Upon closer inspection: hidden objects are revealed by moving closer or require a search check • Secret information: is information that the players can draw a conclusion from information or confirm by NPCs.

Goblins go out and raid to improve their goblin den with gold. As the castle improves, new NPCs are introduced to join the den. These NPCs will provide services for the Goblin King and upgrade the player's items. The player characters can do chores for these NPCs and in return, they gain permanent “class” features. It creates a game loop of adventuring to find gold, then improving their home base through tasks and roleplay, which results in the goblins having better tools for adventuring.
