home to Minnesota. At 6-3, they won the last 4, including a bow/ win over South Carolina for their first 10-win season since 2001! Last year they had 19 starters back, avoided Penn St, Oregon and Michigan and looked like a playoff contender. They were blown out by Indy 63-10 but upset USC the next week. After losses to Ohio Stand UW they were just 5-3 but went 4-1 after that with a bow/ win over Tennessee. This year they have 12 starters back and lose their veteran QB, but add in Katin Houser from ECar. They do have 5 Big 10 road games, so they don't figure to match last year's 9-win total, but should make a bowl. 12. Wisconsin - In 24 they faced a much tougher schedule. The Badgers first 5 losses were to Bama, USC, Penn St, lowa and Oregon - they dropped the last two for their first losing season since 2001! Last year they faced the toughest schedule in the country! In all three of Fickell's years, he has lost his starting QB early in the year and last year was hit hard by injuries at many positions. They upset Wash and lIlinois and the D held foes to 49 ypg below their average (#26) despite their 4-8 record. Finally, the schedule gods have set them up with the easiest schedule in the Big 10 and maybe finally the injury gods will allow them to stay healthy. They were - 11 in TO's and feel the AD made a very solid decision to keep Fickell, a quality coach, and will be rewarded. Five of my 9 sets of power ratings call for a bowl as they have a top-notch D and add Colton Joseph to two QB's that have experience 12. Northwestern - In 22, NW was-70 pg and 1-8 in B10 play.
