Unacceptable! The super wealthy should pay their share! @governor.ca.gov @gavinnewsom.bsky.social

Uh, no. He lost me when he started working on that horrible water bill, and Jerry Brown lost me when he fucked over law library funding. I'm happy he's punching Trump, but that doesn't mean I don't want to see them both fail together.

Fuck him. He’s not even going to be in office after December. Just fuck him.

this guy has always been a fraud and idk how anyone truly believed he stood for anything besides enriching himself

Prior to the 2024 election I would have been in his camp. But subsequently he has really started to show his real colors. He may be occasionally amusing, & his trump parodies are witty, but after that, nah!

He's on his way out. 2028 run for him.
Crazy Cool Caitlin · Jan 13
@pftompkins.bsky.social another reason to hate him!

I won't vote for him in a primary.

Does Gov Haircut put forth his rationale?

Anyone who stands with Newsom might as well stand with wealthy elites. He changed at some point and he will never get my vote for potus.
Bruce Reynolds · Jan 14
..aaand he showed his colors
@amelbil.bsky.social · Jan 13
Wow @gavinnewsom.bsky.social way to lose momentum on being a 2028 nominee. I’m sure the #TechBroBillionaires will be happy to leave CA for Guantanamo Bay, Uzbekistan or Mars to enjoy the *freedom* of zero taxes!

Some are calling this one-time tax a wealth grab. Then don't do it just one time. What they could do is tax billionaires 5% of their wealth EVERY year until they aren't billionaires any more. They shouldn't worry, they'll earn enough annually to remain billionaires.

JB needs to pass his own version of this in Illinois

This is why we can’t be dazzled by performative social media; look at the people aligning with the billionaires and oligarchs. They are not your allies or the solution to most of the problems America is facing.
Aezmodeus · Jan 13
Never voting for this fuck. I’ll stay home before even considering him.
Cameron L. Mitchell · Jan 13
We need leaders to fight for the working class, not billionaires Hey @democrats.org we must do better than Gavin Newsom #TaxTheRich
Mir Bahmanyar · Jan 13
He is awful - will say anything to get elected but he is the problem for all of us - excepting wealthy people of course.
@tsutsunm.bsky.social · Jan 13
Disappointing.

The two party system is a joke.

"Stops billionaire tax" sure sounds like a king. At least it checks one of the top 3 boxes. No kings in America
Drew Broussard · Jan 13
Now is the right time to tell your friends and family that Newsom is not worth their support. I have been having this argument with my family for months—they are happy that he's "fighting back" and being mean to Republicans on social media, but we simply *must* expect more from our representatives.

Trust me, it's either this or Bernie having power and they love Fascism/Appeasement more than Socialism (or just a crumb step towards it).
