Thank you to whomever encouraged LISD school board to finally respond to me. Did I read that right? (In training we are told all district emails are public information, so you could've obtained this if you asked. I'm just putting it on the table.) -- Dear Chris, Thank you for giving me an opportunity to look into your concerns and request. As I shared with you in my previous reply, with a district as large as ours, we have numerous staff members each year, who are diagnosed with cancer or other significant illnesses or diseases and I do assure you that we are concerned for each staff member who faces these unimaginable circumstances causing us to receive various requests for accommodations and/or different job placements. In reviewing this situation, we have over 40 employees currently that are in similar circumstances. I am not able to create alternative job placements for this amount of staff, and I do sincerely wish I could be providing all of you a different answer. Additionally, we are able to staff our current demand for virtual learning with existing staff. I cannot begin to imagine what you have been through and are going through, and our many other employees who are battling significant illness and health issues. A perfect time to inform a teacher with disabilities he's getting fired for requesting accommodations so he can get back to teaching. I've done everything they've asked of me during this process and this is the response I get. I particularly enjoy reason number 4. In hindsight, I guess it's my fault I have Stage 4 Cancer with ongoing chemotherapy. Shoutout to all of the people hiding their disabilities from their employers. No matter how hard we work, this is a reminder we are expendable. This will be my final post about this subject. May the force be with you. -- Mr. Smith. You are hereby notified that the Superintendent of the Lewisville ISD recommended to the Board of Trustees at a lawfully called meeting of the Board of Trustees on May 4, 2026, that your employment contract as a teacher in the District not be renewed for the succeeding school year. At this meeting, the Board voted to propose nonrenewal of your employment contract for the following reasons: 1. Failure to fulfill duties or responsibilities 2. Failure to comply with Board policies or administrative regulation 3. Excessive absences 4. Any reason constituting good cause If you desire a hearing on the Board's proposed nonrenewal of your employment contract, you must submit a written request to the Board no later than the 15th day after the date you receive this notice. Please be advised that the Board has determined that any hearing on this proposed nonrenewal will be conducted before the Board.
