"Seven Seconds from Home" - Finished! I started this digital watercolor and pencil artwork soon after the launch of Artemis 2 (something to do whilst waiting for the mission to progress 😄). It's taken the duration of the mission plus several days to finish painting it using Fresco and my somewhat ancient Kamvas graphics tablet. Whilst I was working on the exhaust plume, I read that the Kennedy Space centre is a nature reserve! So, I thought I put in some worms eye view spectators found there. Final piece roughly 50cm high Not everyone's taste, but I tried hard with this to match lightning and colouration from various photo references of the rocket launch. Pretty pleased with the outcome. Alphonse Mucha inspired art nouveau stylised poster of scene from the Jules Verne 20,000 leagues under the seas novel. Depicting the leviathan squid approaching the Nautilus. The poster is tall and thin with naturalistic patterns, and sea floral and fauna cascading around the borders with a blueprint style elevated view of the Nautilus submarine at the bottom.
