What’s happening with the X-Men right now is practically the ideal scenario for Marvel and its nonstop synergy game. Each of these projects offer an overlapping appeal to all types of X-fans while also getting the opportunity to stand on their own. That’s particularly important since, if Marvel doesn’t have anything mutant-related to show off at SDCC, the show and games will have to tide people over until an announcement does happen. (And potentially longer, should those film productions fall apart.) It’s all eyes on the X-Men once again, and io9 will be at San Diego Comic-Con to see what Marvel does with this momentum.

If this expansion is about the different Elves coming together, I suspect the Harronir will be officially revealed to be the "missing link" between Trolls and Elves that branched off from Dark Trolls some time after their exposure to the Well of Eternity (Probably at the direct behest of Eonar and/or Elune and/or The Winter Queen against the will of the rest of the Titans*). This gets Trolls into the storyline and recontextualizes the Troll Wars as being more tragic than they already were. Harronir are the bridge to this, and helps justify playable Amani on the Alliance (or both, really, but I want Alliance Trolls so bad Horde already has 2 come on).
