Brass tacks. Helen is supposed to be the pinnacle of female sexuality. Making her Black means the pinnacle of female sexuality is Black. Fact is, anti-Black racists agree. They love everything about Blackness except for the Black people who do it better than anyone else. You could say that all standards of female sexuality in America bend toward Blackness, and the anti-Black racist would accede, because it's what they want – lips, eyes, butts, skin, everything. They just don't want the women they covet to actually be Black, because that would force them to question what their own desire suggests to them, which is that Black female sexuality is superior. That is a wrong that must be righted. So they call Nyong’o "unattractive." Ha!
Her Twitter feed: Biden won as the centrist option in the primary, then governed by making huge concessions to the progressive left: on climate, FTC, labor, LGBT issues, student loans and more. Progressives ignored or trashed most of those decisions, prioritized Gaza over any other issue (knowing Trump would be worse), and have now focused all their energy on inexperienced DSA primary challengers in safe districts. This is the reality of the last 3 years of Democratic politics.
Hany Farid, a digital forensics professor at the University of California at Berkeley, examined the photo and said there is no evidence that the image is fake or AI generated. He said that neither McConnell’s nor Chao’s face looks suspicious, according to an analytical model he used to examine the image. He said that the picture’s lighting is plausible and consistent, and that what is visible of the newspaper in McConnell’s hand is consistent with that day’s Post Sports section.
Farid noted that some AI-altered versions of the photo that have been circulating on social media show floating text and hallucinated text on the newspaper, but that the photo McConnell’s office sent did not have high enough resolution to show legible text.

There is a large effort online to reshape the Democratic Party so that it’s more welcoming (not my word) to “the working class.” This effort mostly comes from what I call the pod bros. I think they are trying to discredit the influence of Black people in order to take over the party. I’m making this sound simpler than it is. What’s your view?
But Democratic consultants were so smitten by the populist Platner that they skipped even nominal vetting, and college-educated voters ignored proliferating red flags because he fit their ideal of a working-class hero who could win the working class. That he hailed from an affluent family, attended the Hotchkiss School, and engaged in antisocial behavior didn’t seem to matter until his candidacy became untenable.

or at least a decade we have been told that this and that and the other thing must be tolerated in pursuit of the elusive vote of the working class or the white working class which often means the white male working class which becomes in turn a way that "working class" is too often used by middle-class pundits and politicians to justify centering the needs, desires, and prejudices of white men while insisting that this is a very progressive position to take. In other words, "working class" becomes a Trojan horse for white men.
