10/19/25 Title: Texas is penalizing professors for their political views Body: Governor Greg Abbott said the state will “target" professors who "push leftist ideology", claiming they are detrimental to education in Texas. He confirmed that the dismissal of UT professor Art Markman was "due to ideological differences". Markman was dismissed from his role as senior vice provost for academic affairs in September.
