Hi [bsky]. I'm trying to build a better desk setup for my work, and I'm so burnt out trying to research Thunderbolt stuff and KVMs and I think I just need help making a decision. I dual-wield a gaming PC and a MacBook Pro, and am trying to simplify things.

I have two monitors on my desk currently: one of them is 4K @ 160Hz, from Acer, and one of them is 4K @ 60Hz, from Samsung. The Acer panel has a USB-C interface with 90W power delivery, as well as multiple DP1.4 ports. The Samsung has a DP1.2 interface (the HDMI port is broken).

I would like to create a space that encourages more creative work and design practice at my desk. This largely means that I want to make my current desk setup, which exclusively services the PC, more welcoming to use my Mac. In an ideal world, this means at most plugging in two USB cables to the Mac itself and then having the setup 'just work' after that. However, due to my weird monitor configuration, there's a few things that are difficult/finnicky; here's a bit of info that might help?

- The Mac is an M5 Pro MacBook Pro. It supports Thunderbolt 5.

- The PC has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti.

- The Acer display has two built-in USB ports; these connect down-stream via either USB-C or USB-B. It doesn't have an auto-switch, but can be switched in the OSD.

- An Apple Studio Display (1st generation, 5K @ 60Hz) is not currently in my setup, but could be added.

- My PC's motherboard is an X670E ProArt board that can do Thunderbolt video injection from the GPU.

-I am willing to turn the 160Hz monitor down to 120Hz, but I'd really prefer not to unless it's to use the Studio Display.

-The USB devices I would like to plug into both machines are a keyboard, mouse, and microphone. More USB ports are always appreciated but not 100% necessary.
