Wind drives movements on macroplastics in Toronto Harbour. In some cases the plastics left Toronto harbour travelling over 100 km across Lake Ontario.

Video showing the GPS tracked trajectories of macroplastics. The wind driven surface currents were the primary driver of the plastic movement. As the wind changed direction, so did movements of the plastics.
