the new boulder opal! it's a roughly kite-shaped flat stone, polished to a high shine, in shades of light blue evocative of a nebula. you can see some layering within the stone, including faintly aqua bands and some reflective flashes of darker blue and purple. two dots and a line of brown stone show through the fancy stuff so it looks like a cartoon face, and somehow I managed to make the camera focus on the table instead of the rock.
