Hi, my name is Liquorice I have recently arrived at Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue. I'm a 10–12 month old Lurcher, and I arrived with a very poorly leg. Unfortunately, I suffered an injury some time ago that had never been treated. Thankfully, the team at Evesham took me straight to the vets, where they took some X-rays of my leg. The vet discovered that my hip had been dislocated and was completely out of its socket. They believe my injury was caused by a significant impact, which not only dislocated my hip but also broke the top of my leg bone. Sadly, the damage couldn't be repaired, so the vets had to remove the top part of my femur to make sure I wasn't in any more pain. Because my injury had been left untreated for so long, I had lost most of the muscle in my leg. It had become very weak because it was too painful to use properly. This means my recovery is going to take a little longer, and I'll need lots of physiotherapy to help me build my strength back up. I've even been told I might get to go swimming... I'm not quite sure how I feel about that yet! I'll keep you all updated on my progress. A huge thank you to everyone who supports Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue with your donations. Because of your kindness, I've been able to have the operation I desperately needed. Once I've recovered and I'm feeling much stronger, I'll be looking for my forever home. In the meantime, my foster mum says I'm a really good boy, and I can't wait to show everyone just how special I am.
The lovely susie who arrived with us a little while ago has got a bit of a bumpy road ahead of her, when she arrived with us she had a open wound on her chin the initial thought was that it was a wart or a sore but now after some further investigation including some X-rays we know now it’s a root abscess that’s has ruptured out of her lower jaw this has been cause by a broken rotten canine tooth so after a course of antibiotics and pain relief she will be having a full dental on Thursday to have the damaged tooth removed and a good clean and polish. Once this has been done and she has recovered she is then booked in for a spay and a partial mammory strip as on her intake check up it was found that she has 3 little mammory lumps that will be removed and tested to make sure they aren’t anything nasty. All of Susie treatment will cost us between £2000/£3000 pounds but she is worth every Penny as she is an amazingly beautiful tempered dog who is gentle and loving and everyone who has meet her has fell head over heals in love with her. **** now available for rehoming *** Arlo Hey lovely peeps... I'm having a snooze right now because I've had a busy morning! 🐾 Let me tell you a little bit about myself... I'm around 6–7 months old and I'm microchipped, vaccinated, and wormed, so I'm all ready for my forever home. I'm still just a youngster, so my training is very much a work in progress. I'm learning about house training and don't know a lot yet, but I'm keen to learn with someone who's patient and kind. I'm already a tall lad at 24 inches, and I'm a friendly chap who's learning how to play nicely with other dogs. I'd really love a home with another young, playful dog, as I can be a bit much for the older dogs in my foster home—they soon let me know when I've overstepped the mark! 😅 Now for my confession... I really don't like being left on my own. I'd love a home where someone is around most of the time, and I'd much rather sleep in the bedroom with my people. I think I'd be happy living with older children or teenagers, but no cats or small furry friends, please. Oh... and one last thing... I'm quite agile! We would like to share with you a wonderful update on our very special pair of dogs Libby and Lottie, several weeks ago we were contact by a lovely couple and their son who were interested in the girls after being very patient while we got Lottie through her big dental and her recovery they finally got to meet them and amazingly they offered the pair of them a home together. After 10 months in foster they got their happy ending a few tears were shed but their foster mom couldn’t be happier for them. So good luck Libby and Lottie go and live your best life and enjoy being spoilt rotten.

She is a ready-to-go best friend and will happily join you on trips to the pub/cafe, or just keep you company around the house with whatever you're up to. She isn't phased by busy environments and is just happy when she's around people! • Great with children (she has spent time with toddlers and is very gentle and patient) • Could live with other dogs or be the only dog • Wouldn't like to be left alone for long but this could be built up • Confident, cuddly and cheeky! • Medium size - 21kg 💕 She likes to be near her humans and supervise what they're up to around the house, she will be your shadow! 🐾 Low exercise needs but can still manage long walks every now and then. She travels well in the car and isn't worried by busy cafes, loud noises or new environments. Lovely Daphne is still on the look out for her forever home. Daphne would like a home with a permanent resident dog who is up for lots of rough and tumble ands games of chase, her new playmate needs to be at least a medium size dog probably not under 10kgs as she can be a bit to enthusiastic for smaller dogs. The resident dog needs to be a playmate but also needs to be able to give Daphne confidence for when she is unsure of new people. Daphne is happy to be out and about as long as she has a companion dog with her, she has visited garden centres, pubs and happily walked around busy shopping areas. She needs a safe secure garden as she sometimes gets worried and won’t always come straight in due to this she is also not able to go off a lead. Daphne loves to play but can get up to mischief like digging holes and pulling the washing off a line she is still only young so still typical puppy naughtiness. Daphne walks well on a lead and travels well in the car she is fully house trained and also crate trained that she sleeps in at night and is also happy to be left in for up to 3 hours. Daphne has a strong prey drive and is not suitable to live with anything small and fluffy. Because she can be unsure when meeting new humans she needs a patient and understanding new home who will give her lots of time and love to help her feel safe and secure. Lottie has had a challenging week. About 4 weeks ago Lottie developed a nasty dental abscess we knew her teeth were bad but because of all of her issues a dental would have been a dangerous procedure but after several weeks of antibiotics it really wasn’t shifting and we had to take the chance of putting her under a GA. We are so grateful to our amazing vet team that came up with a plan to keep her as safe as possible with a different mixture of medication and keeping her in a safe position to assist her breathing She safely made it though. She lost most of her teeth(only 10 left) it has taken her a good week to recover but she was eating the next day and was asking for a short walk by the 4th day and is now pretty much back to normal although the hot weather isn’t helping. This will make a huge difference to her quality of life having all those rotten teeth removed. This little dog is so full of strength and character she constantly amazes me.
Chichi and rainbow had a day out,and a Sunday roast,both had a lovely day,sadly chichis biopsies have come back as cancerous so she will be palatine care,we have no time scales but until it starts to effect her life we are going to hold off the steroids on vets advice as a last option when needed,we are all terribly sad but hope we can give her what ever time she has as special and wonderful.pip.xx
