Bug Description > Calibre 9.9.0, Nixos The content server's HTTP parser rejects requests container header fields with empty values, and returns HTTP 400 with the message "Failed to parse header line". If you look at RFC 9110, you'll see that empty values are perfectly legal in HTTP headers. In particular, this showed up while trying to serve Calibre using Tailscale. If you use the Tailscale Service feature, it injects a number of headers starting with Tailscale-User. And in the annoyingly specific case where you're using icloud as your OIDC provider, the Tailscale-User-Profile-Pic header doesn't get a value. Stripping these headers out explicitly using nginx solved the issue for me, but practically you can also just change the condition at 'src/calibre/srv/http_ request. py' from 'if not key or not val' to just 'if not key' 2 Kovid Goyal (kovid) Wrote 4 hours ago: Fixed in branch master.
