The horrific shooting in Sydney shows us that antisemitism is real and pervasive. There is no justification for murdering people in cold blood simply for observing their faith. That's true whether the shooting is in a church, a mosque, a synagogue- or in a public place where people are assembling peacefully. Jewish people worldwide are under threat. Those threats existed before 10/7, and they are even greater today. We worship under armed guards. We can't have community celebrations without pre-registration and heightened security. We can't feel safe identifying ourselves in public in many places around the world. This isn't imagined. It's real, and it's deadly. And it's enough already.
