Steps:
Nov 5 –- Voters cast their ballots for the popular vote
Nov 5 - Dec 11 — Canvass, Tabulation, Audits & Certification to verify local and state election results
Dec 17 — State electors meet to vote for President & Vice President, and submit their votes via Certificates of Vote and Certificates of Ascertainment to the Archivist.
Dec 25 — Deadline for the Senate & Archivist to receive electoral votes
Jan 3 — Office of the Federal Registrar validates the Certificates and sends a copy to Congress
Jan 6 - The 119th Congress counts electoral votes and declares the President and VP.
