At this year's elections: 42% said they saw or heard misinformation about party policies. 29% said they saw or heard misinformation about individual candidates. 18% said they saw or heard misinformation about electoral processes.

The 'How does the electoral system need to change before 2019?' event lasts from 13:00 - 14:00. The speakers are: Lewis Baston, political journalist and author Matteo Bergamini, founder and CEO of Shout Out UK Professor Jane Green, co-director of the British Election Study John Pullinger, Chair of the Electoral Commission and Dr Hannah White, director and CEO of the Institute for Government.
Our initial assessment is that the elections have been well-run. Thank you to electoral administrators for the preparation and commitment that ensures voters in their area can take part. A wide range of candidates stood and campaigned at these elections, giving voters a broad range of options about who makes decisions on their behalf in their local area. We will now collect evidence from all those involved in order to support our assessment of the polls. An analysis will be published later this summer.
