Devil's Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three is a 2002 true-crime book by Mara Leveritt that investigates the 1993 murders of three young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas, and the controversial conviction of three teenagers—Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley—who became known as the West Memphis Three. Leveritt argues the convictions were driven by a "Satanic panic" and a flawed investigation, despite a lack of physical evidence, and the book details the "witch-hunt atmosphere" of the trials, the defendants' release in 2011, and the ongoing questions about the case.
