A transport and energy system based on wind & solar is vastly more efficient and cheaper to run than our current fossil fuel-based system. All the pumping, drilling, shipping, digging, transporting, storing, refining, and liquefying will be completely eliminated as we embrace electrification. Yes, we will need to invest more in transmission and storage, but far less than what we currently spend on fossil fuel infrastructure. The countries that electrify fastest wilbe the winners. Those that continue subsidising and supporting inefficient fossil fuels will be the losers in this energy transition.
