NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING Today we acknowledge the long history of genocide, removal, and ongoing harm to the Indigenous people whose land we continue to occupy, and whose pain is so often erased through stories and celebrations meant to center white feelings and appease white guilt. There's no way to rebrand the continued violence of colonization. Today we honor the grief of the Wampanoag people, all of our Two Spirit relatives, and the Indigenous peoples of Palestine, Congo, Sudan, Tigray, and other occupied lands facing genocide and continuing colonial violence.
