If it helps to make ya laugh, I one time on Casual Matches beat a Perish Trap team with my Mega Audino at the end because 1. the time they didn't give their Mega Gengar a Poison move bit them in the ass and 2. It's the slower Pokemon who wins if every left is underneath Perish Song.
