Eric Portis @ericportis.com · Jan 23 Giving Canary's (Rust!) JXL decoder a whirl with @jakearchibald.com’s image decoder benchmark. On my machine it's "only" twice as slow as Safari, which is using the highly-optimized C++ library.

@sneyers.info tells me the Rust decoder used to be a lot slower, too – looking forward to comparable performance, soon??
