10's cele sports and politics have been intertwined deeply for a long time. pulisic has the right to celebrate however he wants, just like i have the right to share my feelings about it. christian himself says the celebration isn't political, but did confirm it was 'the trump dance'. to me, it reads like ignorance. that's not an insult either - i am plenty ignorant. i don't know what it is to represent my country playing soccer, score goals at the San Sire, or in the world cup. i'm ignorant too! i get the sense that christian didn't know the celebration would read as support for trump (major benefit of the doubt) and his teammates joining in probably do see it as a funny dance (objectively, an old white guy dancing poorly is funny, not when he's the next president). i hope they learn from this moment, that their actions have immense influence and can be used for good. young people could see this and take it as an endorsement for trump from their favorite players. they can stand for what they choose, and going forward i hope it's inclusion.
