In this Tweet posted 1/26/26 at 4.07 PM, tricia mclaughlin, asst secretary of public affairs of DHS, says, “Chief Gregory Bovino has NOT been relieved of his duties. As @ PressSec stated from the White House podium, @ CMDROpAtLargeCA is a key part of the President’s team and a great American.” She is saying this as a response to a Tweet she quote-Tweeted here by right-wing influencer nick sortor, in which he says “There is no longer a Commander at Large of thr U.S. Border Patrol. The position has been eliminated….”

Katie Miller, the white supremacist wife of white supremacist cabinet member Stephen Miller, tweeted a map of Greenland overlaid with the US flag. Miller’s caption for this tweet is “SOON.” She posted this on Jan. 3, 2026 after tons of coverage about the US bombing of Venezuela and kidnapping of Maduro. The implication of Miller’s tweet in thos context is that the US will soon be invading Greenland.
Author Joyce Carol Oates elegantly skewers elon musk again. Here, she has a re-tweet of acct avidreader on xitter. Avidreader posted “Wherever he goes, he wants to leave: SA, Canada, ultimately the U.S. in the long run, based on his behavior. This also includes Earth. A continuous disavowel of your home is odd, to say the least. He seems to have no club.” JCO quote-tweets with this response to that: “ ‘ wherever he goes, he wants to leave’—that’s because when he gets there, he has brought his own self along; & whatever club he’s invited to join has been devalued by the invitation.”

This is a post that trump put up on truth social on September 6, 2025 reminiscent of the poster for the 1979 Vietnam War movie Apocalypse Now. An AI-generated trump (because he’s made to look like a much younger man) is kind of crouching in the front right center wearing sort of a Vietnam War-era shirt and pants and a black cowboy-ish hat with a crossed-sword logo. Behind him are helicopters and a city skyline tinged orange and red and you can see flames behind him. The text is, in quotes: “I love the smell of deportations in the morning…” and then this line: Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR and then 3 helicopter emojis. The quoted line is taken from a classic line from the movie, which was “I love the smell of napalm in the morning.” The bottom left of the movie poster knock-off is in a similar ragged font as the original movie poster. In that, it said “Apocalypse Now.” Here, in this authoritarian and anti-immigrant propaganda, it says “Chipocalypse Now,” referencing the “Chi” of Chicago.

Context: original Bluesky post wanted to know how Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) justifies her support of Cuomo [aka "sex pest"] for mayor (2025) but not for former Sen. Al Franken, when allegations broke years back about his alleged sexual harassment.

Crops are rotting in fields and livestock are not being tended. This will also affect things like the availability of food products.

The goose meme! The upper panel has a goose's head coming up from the lower border of the panel, throwing side-eye saying "Which religions, asshole?" We can't see the goose's entire body. Think of it like a goose is looking at you from outside, its head popping up over a windowsill. The lower panel has that same goose chasing a man who is wearing a down jacket, trousers, and shoes. We can't see the man's head because it's like he's ducking out of the picture to the left (goose coming in from the right), obviously freaked by the goose coming at him. And who wouldn't? Geese are freaking scary and mean and you should totally run away from them when they come for you.

Folkenflick comments: “Did not have LA Times owner retweeting Cernovich on my bingo card, but happy Friday folks.” The tweet Soon-Shiong RT’ed of extremist right-wing propagandist Mike Cernovich says: “Incredible how so few could harm so many. One day the truth will come out .. “It’s not a conspiracy if it’s true” .. coming soon.” Cernovich then supplies a link. Cernovich is also an extreme right-wing troll.
