my pitch for a new YGO series is to make it be about multi-player duals. Have the protagonist be this tryhard ultra-competitive duelist who wins back to back TCG championships but has no friends and zero idea how to build alliances or politic his way through conflict, and ends up competing in a new tournament focused on multiplayer YGO where anyone can dual at the same time, and because he's so famous as a top star duelist and has no idea how to politic, he keeps getting ganged up on by mutliple duelists all targeting him where now he doesn't just need to play through 3 or so handcraps, he needs to play through 9-12 T0 interruptions and its just not realistic His rival in the story is a card-shark master manipulator who plays honestly quite garbage decks, but this is on purpose, as he intentionally presents himself as "I'm just a lil guy. clearly I'm not the threat, it's him", able to successfully manipulate his opponents into leaving them vulnerable fro him to OTK with his blind-second beat down strategy. the protagonist has to learn social skills and how to build positive human relationships and not just be a tryhard asshole who only cares about winning at any cost. There'll be another character who plays a group-hug style chaos deck that gives everyone playing an absurd amount of free summons and resources because he doesn't care about winning AT ALL. his only goal is to create the most absurd enboards ever conceived, seeing YGO more like a canvas to paint his murals of chaos and anarchy

I think the Reporter angle was a solid way to update her from just being their secretary. I'd just have softened her edges in season 1. I'd write Karen's arc as S1 "good-hearted girl who Matt falls in love with and shares his secret with at the end. Karen believes in the idealized concept of Justice and doesnt agree with Daredevil's vigilante activities because she thinks the system can work" S2 "Karen's ideals are pushed to their limits as she sees more and more innocent people arrested and bad people go free. Becomes a nervous wreck who can't handle keeping Matt's secret and leaves him by the mid-point. Have Elektra come in and replace Black Widow, where Karen sees the writing on the wall. Can't handle Matt's lifestyle, and moves out, breaking Matt's heart" S3 Don't go full drug-addict hooker but instead "Karen's at her darkest point and ends up getting scooped up by Kingpin as a plan to hurt Matt by pushing Karen towards evil. We see Karen make difficult, morally comprosimising choices and hate herself for what she's done. Positioning karen as fall-girl and the new face of his criminal underworld while he's in prison. With the plan of her getting arrested and Matt having to try and fail to save Karen. Matt does succeed on getting Karen's sentence reduced. Ending the 3 season show with the ideal that Justice does prevail
