That is the most amazing cover, I would absolutely buy a book like that without a moment's hesitation.
As you can probably guess from the initials and the time period, that was written by a woman. Janet Opal Jeppson. This was her first published novel. In her day job, she was a psychiatrist. Her novel was accepted for publication on the day of her wedding. To Isaac Asimov.
