Since its inception in 2004, the Mechanisms of Behavior Change (MOBC) Satellite was one of the longest, continuously running satellite meetings at the Research Society on Alcohol’s Annual Meeting*. This satellite meeting, a collaboration between extramural researchers, universities, and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, provided a forum for individuals at all career stages to come together and discuss the complexities of alcohol use, alcohol use disorder (AUD) and particularly, the behavior change process. The most recent iteration of the meeting was a 3-year conference grant that ended in 2024. Due to a lack of funding the conference grant will not be renewed for 3 more years.
