Fellow #birding and #bird enthusiasts, I'd like your help! In the fields north of Ljubljana, Slovenia today I spotted a migrating flock of striking white birds. Crow-sized but sleeker, brilliant white with highlights I didn't catch. Didn't fly like gulls, possibly whiter than terns. Any thoughts?

I'm sorry for such a useless photo, I quickly fumbled for a picture as my train passed. The fields are wet at the moment and getting plenty of water birds. A friend suggests they could be egrets. I'd love your thoughts!
