There had been something about Zenos' obsession with and pursuit of her which unsettled her in so deep and raw a way that it had been difficult not to fixate on it in return. Only by the training of Curious Gorge and her restraint over her Inner Beast had she managed to not rise to the occasion of meeting his provocations until she could avoid it no longer. His skill and depravity knew almost no bounds, and it made him an enemy she was careful not to underestimate, lest he turn his attention upon those she cared for in order to draw her out. Yet, something visceral in her wanted it right up until she had it, and even then, found relief in allowing herself to meet it. And that terrified her. Elidibus proved little different. Until now, he'd seemed content to stay under the notice of her friends when possible, Urianger's clandestine encounters with him notwithstanding. Even so, at any point she suspected she was being observed, she needed only look long enough to find him at her heels or in her path. It took no time at all for her to recognize those moments when he wished to draw her out, and hardly more beyond to discover she was only too eager to let him. And, if she were honest with herself, there had been times she'd tried to manufacture the opportunities. And that should have terrified her. She shook her head, free hand reaching up, tracing the planes of the mask until her thumb could slide beneath it. "I'm scared of myself around you."
