Its eyes stare into your soul and the knowing smile reflects the terrible terrible secrets that it's learning about about you. Gustopher: Check out my new shirt. It glows in the dark. Panel 2 Gustopher and his friends have moved to the bathroom so they can turn off the lights and get a proper look at the shirt in the dark. The shirt continues to smile, it mocks the tragedy of the world with its perpetual grin. Hannah: Is it bright? Gustopher: Let's find out? Panel 3 The lights are off. Everyone looks down at the shirt so they might witness its brilliant glow. It is glowing, but it's faint and hard to see. The shirt continues to smile. It has witnessed the secrets of the universe and must smile to hide its sorrow. Panel 4 Liam: Is it doing anything? Gustopher: Just ruining my day. The shirt is satisfied with this series of events. Every disappointed child is one step closer to the glowpocolypse. The shirt smiles at the thought of that glorious day of glowmageddon.

Too Many Gators - Gator Days Characters Monroe - Alligator - The oldest of five siblings. She's a loner, which is incredibly difficult when you have five siblings. Lincoln - Alligator - The second oldest. He's both grumpier and more responsible compared to others his age. Kennedy - The middle child. She exists Grant - The second youngest. He's 98% energy and 2% Focus. Jackie - The youngest in her family. She's really happy to be there and would like to bite a lot of things. Transcript Panel 1 Several siblings are chilling and doing their best to keep themselves occupied. Lincoln is reading a book, Monroe is on her phone, and Jackie is happily sitting on the couch and is happily contemplating the frightening natures of existence. Lincoln is getting frustrated with his book, A Song of Pies in Fire. Lincoln: This book has too many characters. Monroe: Is that bad? Panel 2 Kennedy random appears to offer her input. Kennedy: It makes the plot hard to follow. Lincoln: Especially when new characters keep popping up. Jackie eyes Lincoln's book. Panel 3 Lincoln: It's worse when they all have weird catchphrases. Grant pops out behind the couch to yell something. Grant: IT'S CHOMP O'CLOCK! Monroe gives him an annoyed glare. Grant will now run away and come up with something else to randomly yell. Jackie has her hands on Lincoln's book. Panel 4 Lincoln: And I lose track of how everyone is connected. Monroe: Oh, Cousin Gustopher just texted. Jackie is now attempting to bite Lincoln's book. Used to taking charge but is capable of being silly. He and August go way back. Mewbert and Nougat - Cat - Animal - August and Gustopher's pet cats. Transcript Panel 1 Seth has arrived at August's house. Neither of them have to worry about taking care of the kids tonight so they've decided to have a BOY'S NIGHT! They both have a drink mysteriously called "Drink Pun". Seth: BOY'S NIGHT! August: BOY'S NIGHT! Panel 2 They've decided to relax a little before going out. Seth immediately starts looking for something to watch. Seth: Let's start with a movie and pizza. August: BOY'S NIGHT! It's well known that if you don't know what to say on a Boy's Night, you just yell, "BOY'S NIGHT!" Panel 3 Seth remembers something important. Seth: Oh, no pepperoni. My heartburn has been awful. August: Same. I can assure you that they will both still have heartburn. Panel 4 Seth and August on the couch with the movine playing. August's cats have curled up on their blanket covered laps. Nougat watches the movie with great interest and Mewbert just immediately goes to sleep. Seth: BOY'S NIGHT! August has already fallen asleep.

Fork Fight - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 The founding members of the band Fork Fight are making an appearance on a late night talk show. Timmy Fowlon: It's the founding members of Fork Fight! Kyle and Kyle! Shirtless Kyle: YEAH! Kyle and Kyle walk out on stage. Kyle, as usual, is not wearing a shirt and the other Kyle, as usual, looks like he doesn't want to be there. He's wearing a shirt that promotes their new album "Spoon Scuffle". Panel 2 Kyle and Kyle take their seats and are ready for the interview. Timmy Fowlon jumps right into it. Timmy Fowlon: You formed your band in high school. How did you two become friends? Panel 3 Shirtless Kyle and Shirt Kyle give each other a meaningful glance. One of those glances that immediately transfers a lot of information between the two of them. A lot more information than is necessary in this moment. They'll be getting tacos after the interview is done. Panel 4 Shirtless Kyle and Shirt Kyle set the record straight. Kyle: We're not friends. Kyle: I hate this guy. Whether Kyle is referring to hating the other Kyle or the host is unclear.

Transcript Panel 1 Hannah and Olivia are hanging out and then Olivia gleefully asks Hannah if she'd like some gum. Olivia: Hannah... Hee hee... Want some gum? Panel 2 Hannah would like some gum which fills Olivia with an immense amount of joy. Hannah: Sure. Olivia: Cool. -snort- Here's your GUM. Olivia holds out an innocent looking stick of gum. It surely must be gum. Olivia just said it is. Panel 3 Hannah reaches towards the gum while Olivia seems to be growing increasingly excited about Hannah finally having some gum. This must be some pretty good gum or else Olivia wouldn't be so excited. There couldn't possibly be any other motives behind this. Panel 4 Hannah: You're trying to prank me. Olivia is shocked! SHOCKED! How could Hannah be accusing her of this 100% factual thing. Olivia had been playing it so cool. Olivia: How did you know?

Peggy and Monty - Mouse and Pig - Ember's surly schoolmates. Transcript Panel 1 Ember and her friends are having a water balloon fight and Ember is doing quite well. She has planted herself up on rock to declare her water balloon dominance. Her friends stare on with a combination of admiration and disdain. Ember is wearing a shirt that says "RETURN of SHIRT". It's the sequel to shirt that tries to get back to the origins of what made the original shirt so cherished. Ember: I RULE THIS ROCK! I WON'T LEAVE UNTIL I'M DEFEATED! Seth: You won't go for your beloved husband who loves you? Daryl: I won't go for anyone. Panel 3 Hannah suddenly enters and she also has a brilliant idea. Hannah: DAD! PAPA! Can we go to the beach? Panel 4 Seth, Daryl, and Hannah have arrived at the beach. Daryl has set up a blanket that he hopes will act as a decent barrier between himself and the sand. Hannah is rushing to the sand with a shovel, a bucket, and sand castle ambitions. Seth had a feeling that things would turn out this way but teases Daryl a little more. Seth: I thought you wouldn't go for anyone. Daryl: She's more important than anyone.

Transcript Panel 1 Gustopher and Douglas are at a gathering at a park and having lunch. Gustopher offers Douglas a slice pizza because sharing is caring. Gustopher: DOUGLAS! Want some pizza? Douglas: No, thank you. I can't have dairy. Panel 2 CAN'T HAVE DAIRY! Is that legal? Gustopher is trying grasp the meaning of this. He tilts the plate with the slice of pizza slightly. Gustopher: What about ice cream? Douglas: I can't have that. Gustopher: Macaroni and cheese? Douglas No. Panel 3 Gustopher is shocked that there are people in the world who can't enjoy dairy. He his hand tilts the plate even further causing the slice of pizza to start to slip off. Gustopher: Grilled cheese? Milkshakes? Poutine? Douglas: Any of that would make me sick. Panel 4 Gustopher has gone off to sit on a stump to process this information. He hold his hands together under his chin to contemplate all this. He's learning a lot about the world today.

Field: If Shen can have a girl form, I can too! Panel 2 Field leaps majestically in the air to do a magical girl style transformation. Panel 3 Field is a Grandma now in a thick sweater and glasses that have that necklace thing that old people love so much. Grandma Field: Oh, it was set to grandma. Ember is loving the sound of this game already. She didn't even need to usurp anyone and she's pretty sure she can take Liam if he tries to usurp her. Panel 2 Liam: I'll tell you about the problems of the people and you solve them Ember: GOT IT! Panel 3 Ember has taken the throne which just happens to be a recliner. All thrones should be recliners. Liam approaches her with the first problem to solve and she responds like a queen associated with hearts in a land of wonder. Liam: Your Highness, the people are- Ember: OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! Panel 4 Liam stands silently for a moment. He figured something like this would happen. He still wants to know Ember's reasoning. Liam: Why? Ember: NO PEOPLE, NO PROBLEMS! This also means there will be more snacks for her.

Super Realistic - Gator Days August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT. Gustopher's dad. Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable boy who loves making friends. August's son. Transcript Panel 1 Gustopher and his dad are looking through some old boxes. The cats are helping. This help is mostly just them getting in and out of boxes. It's a good thing they are there or no one would be going in and out of the boxes. Gustopher has found an interesting looking cartridge. Gustopher: I haven't seen this game before. Panel 2 August takes a look at the game and is hit by a wave of nostalgia. August: I used to play it all the time. Panel 3 August inserts the cartridge into some sort of video game console that is definitely official hardweare for this specific cartridge and not something made by a third party. Otherwise it would void the warranty for this game that's well over two decades old. August: The graphics are super realistic. Check it out. Panel 4 The game is shown. There is a blocky looking man standing in a blocky looking field near a blocky looking house and blocky looking cliff. He holds a blocky looking weapon. It's beautiful.

Transcript Panel 1 Daryl is in his backyard for a little get together with his friends and family. He's watching his husband, Seth, talk to August. Daryl begins to contemplate where he is in life. Daryl (thinking): It hurts when the people who are supposed to love you the most reject the most important people in your life. Panel 2 Daryl turns to see his daughter, Hannah, playing with her friends Liam, Gustopher, and Olivia. Gustopher is holding a ball above his head and Hannah looks like she's trying to get it from him. Olivia also appears to making a motion to grab the ball. Daryl (thinking): I thought I'd lose everything without my parent's approval. I thought I wouldn't have a family anymore. Panel 3 Daryl's brother, Terry, has wandered over to show Daryl the new design he made for his band's merch. He has a tank top on with the word "FORK" on top of a giant fork. Terry is very proud of this. Graphic design is his passion. Daryl (thinking): That's not what happened. I still have my brother. I'm a husband and a father. I'm finally making friends. Panel 4 Everyone is running around and having fun. Daryl puts his arm around his husband as Hannah tries to get his attention to tell him something. Daryl smiles. Daryl (thinking): I never lost my family. I found it.

Panel 2 August approaches Field to see what is up. August: Are you going to do a yuri? Field: I can't! I put all my skillpoints into beef and dad bods. Panel 3 Field begins to draw furiously. Field: I'll just have to draw the sexiest thing I can imagine. I hope this works. Panel 4 Two beefy guys are holding hands and walking together. Man 1: Thank you for holding my hand in that crowd. Man 2: I'm glad I could help. Let's go home and watch anime.

Daryl has been having a rough time with his parents but it has reminded him of how important his daughter is to him and he wants Hannah to know that. Daryl: Hannah, I need to tell you something. Panel 2 Daryl decides to just say what he wants to say without beating around the bush. He's not always direct about his emotions but this feels like a good time for it. His husband, Seth, watches from the doorway. Daryl: I need you know how proud of you I am. Wherever you go in life, I want to support you. Panel 3 A rare smile come across Daryl's face. He loves his daughter more than anything and hopes that she understands how much he appreciates her. Daryl: It's an honor being your Papa. Thank you for being my daughter. Seth is moved by this whole scene. Panel 4 Hannah is distracted because she's in an online match in her game and can't pause. Hannah: Thanks, Papa. Could I get back to my game before I lose this match. Daryl has said what he needed to say and sees this as a great opportunity to practice what he just said. Daryl: I support that. Give them hell.

Daryl just finished a call with his father that did not go well. He lets Seth know how it went. Daryl: My parents aren't coming to the party. Seth: Babe, I'm sorry. Panel 2 Daryl stands defiantly and feels determined not to let this bother him too much. He's gotten used to this sort of thing from his parents. Daryl: It's fine. I was fine when they didn't come to our wedding. I'll be fine now. Panel 3 Daryl loses some of the stiffness in his posture and looks to the ground. A tear starts to form in one of his eyes. He doesn't want this to get to him. Seth approaches him and puts a hand on his husband's arm. Daryl: It's fine. Panel 4 Seth hold on to one of Daryl's arms while Daryl wipes away a tear. Daryl: It's not fine. I hate it.
Field is staring at a drawing tablet. They are despondent. Behind Field is two larger version of Field, one pink and one blue, who are crying. All aspects of Field are upset at the loss of five minutes of work. Really, the frustration is more with the loss of momentum. In the time I spent drawing this I probably could have redone what I lost five times over. Instead I wasted my time drawing this thing. Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? I could really use a wish right now. wish right now. wish right now. Okay, I'm going back to drawing.

Daryl and his husband have been planning a little party with their closest friends and family to celebrate the day that they adopted their daughter. Daryl has decided to make an attempt to invite his parents although he's pretty sure they won't come. Daryl: Hey Dad, we're having a party to celebrate the day Hannah joined our family. I'd love it if you and Mom came. Ed: That'll be difficult. Panel 2 Daryl knows at this point that his parents will not be coming. He hasn't even given them a date. He'll give it one last push but doesn't want to argue about it too much. Daryl: Are you sure? You still haven't met your granddaughter. Ed: It's not like she's really our granddaughter. Panel 3 Upon hearing this, Daryl immediately says the first thing that comes to mind. Daryl: Then I guess I'm not really your son! Ed: That's not- Daryl doesn't offer an opportunity for the sentence to be finished. Daryl: Bye. Panel 4 Daryl takes a moment to reflect on all this. He feels angry and hurt. Only one word comes to mind at the moment. Daryl (thinking): Man...
The Ride Home - Gator Days Characters Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable boy who loves making friends. August's son. Transcript Panel 1 Gustopher has been visiting his Aunt but is now heading home. He sits in the passenger seat next to his dad and looks out the window. He sees someone flying a kite with a rainbow colored tail on the beach with a giant rock standing tall in the ocean. He takes in the scene. He doesn't know when he'll be back. Panel 2 It's a little later in the day and now Gustopher is going by some farms. There's a field with something growing in it and a tractor nearby. It feels like an entirely different world compared to the coast. Panel 3 The sun is setting and Gustopher and his dad are now making their way through the city. There's a billboard in the distance advertising "Diet Green Soda" with a someone who looks very happy to be drinking Diet Green Soda. They've picked up some fast food for dinner and Gustopher is eating a burger in the car. He has a drink in the door cupholder but it's not Diet Green Soda. Panel 4 The sun as set as Gustopher and his dad enter their neighborhood. Gustopher has fallen asleep after eating his dinner. The sky is dark but it's early enough that the lights are still on in the houses that they're driving by. While the drive home was ultimately uneventful and even boring at times, there is something about it that feels special.
Aunt Julia's Cabin (Part 3/3) - Gator Days Characters Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable boy who loves making friends. August's son. Julia - Alligator - A thoughtful woman who loves solitude. Lives in a cabin off the beaten path. August's sister and Gustopher's Aunt. Transcript Panel 1 Gustopher is still visiting his Aunt Julia and they're having dinner. It's some sort of soup. The standard food you have in a cabin in the woods. Everyone knows that soup tastes way better when you have it in a cabin in the woods. Gustopher: Aunt Julia, what was Dad like as a kid? Julia: He was the baby of the three of us. Panel 2 Julia thinks back to her childhood with her big sister and little brother. Next to her is a drink that has the label "ALL HOPS" on it. It's primarily consumed people people in their late 30's and early 40's while listening to vinyl records. Julia: He would do anything your Aunt June or I told him. One time we made him- Panel 3 Julia suddenly stops talking and her eyes grow wide. It just now occurs to her that this is a good story be telling her nephew. What did she do? Seriously, I don't know. Julia! WHAT DID YOU DO TO AUGUST? Panel 4 Gustopher would also like to know. Gustopher: Made him what? Julia: Nothing. Gustopher: MADE HIM WHAT? Julia: Let's have cake! Gustopher will remember this.

Julia - Alligator - A thoughtful woman who loves solitude. Lives in a cabin off the beaten path. August's sister and Gustopher's Aunt. Transcript Panel 1 Gustopher is visiting his Aunt Julia and is out exploring the area around her cabin. He's standing on a dirt path and looking around. He's surrounded by plants and rocks. He can't even see any houses. Panel 2 Gustopher has found himself by a stream. He sits on a rock and listens to the water. Nearby there's a wire fence that's one of the only signs that there have been people around. It's peaceful. Panel 3 Gustopher stands on a cliff where he can see the ocean. The sun is setting and filling the sky with a brilliant mix of blue, red, orange, and yellow. The colors are reflected off the water. The world feels alive at this moment. His arm is in a sling thanks to an incident. A relative of Bolero has just noticed this and has come over to see what has happened. Campbell: BOLERO! What happened to you? Bolero: Hide and seek. Two frog kids are hiding behind a tree and watching this happen. They are not important to this particular comic but they are extremely happy to be included. Christine notices and walks over to see what he has. Christine: Found a shirt you like? Panel 2 August holds up the shirt. It's pink and has "Man Shirt" written on it with fancy lettering. It's a few sizes too big but it looks like it's new and in a nice color. August: Yeah, but it's a little large... And pink. Christine doesn't see the problem with a man wearing a pink shirt. Christine: So? Panel 3 August is holding onto a little awkwardness from his childhood and tells Christine about it. August: My dad gave me grief when I wanted to wear pink. Christine shrugs and speaks her mind. Christine: Your dad isn't here and I think you'd look cute. Panel 4 August has bought the shirt and has put it on over what he's wearing. He walks out the store while holding Christine's hand. He feels cute. Christine also thinks he looks cute.

They are holding up a light to a fanged mouth that looks like it's going to eat them. They probably had it coming. Gustopher: But they're all good guys! August: Sometimes it's hard to know who is actually good. Panel 3 Gustopher freezes for a moment. He is pretty sure that he knows who the good guys are. Does he? Maybe he doesn't. He's been looking for an opportunity to go to the park and it looks like the weather will finally allow it. Wyatt is sitting on his mother's lap with his mouth on a giant toy ring. Ben is sitting in a chair next to them. He's clicking a pen over and over with his eyes fixated on it. Douglas: The rain stopped! Can we go to the park? Wendalyn: Sure! Grab your coat. Panel 2 Ben's eyes stay fixated on his pen. He rests his head on his other hand and stares at it intensely. He keeps on clicking the pen. The rest of the family start to move around him. Gustopher's dad. Transcript Panel 1 Once again, August finds himself at work and carrying a box of various cords and wires to the wire room. This way no one will accidentally mistake them for delicious noodles and try to eat them. Behind him is a sign giving directions to the wire room and the regular rooms. Stuart approaches August with some good news. Stuart: August! The whole office is getting new plants. August: Oh? Cool... Why? Panel 2 Stuart: Studies suggest they increase productivity. August: How do they do that? August holds the box of wires higher up. On it is writing "Seriously, DON'T EAT!". It is tragic how often this needs to be repeated. Panel 3 Stuart: By helping with productivity. Stuart notices something on his phone and diverts 80% of his mental energy towards taking in that new information. August: I don't understand how- Panel 4 Stuart interrupts August. Stuart: Change of plans. We're getting yoga mats. August: For productivity? Stuart: You got it! It is uncertain if the yoga mats will actually come with the opportunity to actually do yoga.

The kids are still cleaning up their things by Daryl takes this as an opportunity to invite August in for coffee. Daryl: The kids are cleaning up their stuff. Want some coffee before you head out? August: Sure. Panel 2 August and Daryl are quietly sipping on their coffee. Daryl is holding a blue mug with pink lettering that says "His Cup" while August was given a pink cup with blue lettering that says "His Cup" but there's a "Her" in between the two words that has been crossed out. August starts thinking. Thinking is a dangerous thing to do. August has known Daryl's husband, Seth, for a long long time but hasn't interacted a lot with Daryl. August (thinking): I've hardly been around Daryl. He's so intense. Panel 3 August has gotten better at not overthinking these moments but he still falls into it every once in a while. The silence is starting to feel palpable. August (thinking): He's hardly spoke. I hope I'm not making him uncomfortable. Panel 4 Dang, let's see what Daryl is thinking. Daryl (thinking): This is nice. Daryl enjoys August's company and looks forward to the next time they can enjoy some coffee.

Panel 3 Gustopher freezes. He contemplates this proposal for a moment. Panel 4 Gustopher holds up the cookie to father, a disgruntled expression is plastered on his face. Gustopher: Take it. August: You don't want to try? Gustopher knows that he has no chance against his father is also aware that his father would never purposefully throw a competition. He has accepted his fate. Gustopher: We both know how this ends. Gustopher is right that August was planning at absolutely demolishing his son at arm wrestling. He is unaware that August was going to split the cookie. Someone's ears can be seen behind the bean bag. They're making good progress but Gustopher thinks the book is odd. Liam: Did you finish the assigned reading? Gustopher: Almost, but I'm confused. Panel 2 Gustopher holds up the book and the title can be seen. It's the literary classic "Dan of Mean Tables". Gustopher looks agitated and voices his thoughts. Gustopher: Aren't the main characters supposed to be good guys? Sometimes they do bad stuff. Gustopher prefers a clear division between good guys and bad guys. Good guys do good stuff and bad guys do bad stuff. Simple. Panel 3 Liam finds this to be an interesting thought. Dan of Mean Tables and his friends can be rather naughty at times. Liam: They're morally complex. Gustopher: I guess... It's different from most stories. Liam's sister, Ember, can be seen sneaking up to the juice box by Liam. She awaits her time to strike. She is a morally complex protagonist. Panel 4 Liam defends the book. Liam: It's more like real life. Gustopher: I don't want real life. I'm in it all the time. Field Comic Field is lying in on the cold hard ground. Their office chair has snapped in the middle and dangling to the side. While staring at the ceiling, Field contemplates everything in life that has brought them to this moment. Narration: My office chair broke. Field (thinking): Ah... It's one of those weeks.
Field Comic Field stares at a bowl on the ground. Its contents have been spilled all over the floor. It had teriyaki chicken inside but what what once was inside the bowl is now outside the bowl and not in a stomach where it belongs. The sauce of the chicken is seeping in the carpet. Panel 3 Fern's smile grows wider as she shifts all of her energy into a plan of action. She decides that she needs to step outside for a moment. She does not want her children to hear what she has to say. Fern: I have to make a call. Panel 4 Dan, Liam, and Ember stand at the window and watch their mother yell at someone over the phone. Dan is concerned about this but Liam is happy that his mom has his back. Ember wants to be just like her when she grows up. Dan: Why is Mom yelling? Liam: She's expressing herself.

The cookie jar labelled "COOKIE JAIL" is sitting next to Liam. In the distance a pair of ears can be seen. Panel 3 Fern refers back to what Liam said when he started this conversation. Specifically about how he felt that he must be broken. Fern: You're not broken. Everyone has parts in their lives that are easier or harder. Like how you can express yourself so well with words. The mysterious ears are moving closer to the cookie jail. Could this be a hero that seeks to liberate the cookies from their prison? Panel 4 Fern: You can show your feelings in the way you're most comfortable with. And no matter what, I love you. Liam leans closer to his mom. What she says isn't a quick fix but it's helping him feel better. Liam doesn't know that this is a moment that he will remember for the rest of his life. Liam: I love you too, Mom. It looks like the mysterious person has reach the cookie jail and... OH NO! The name of the author for this comic is blocking their face. All we can see is the top of their hand reaching towards the jar. Golly, guess we'll never know who this is. I'm sure they have saved all the cookies.

He's talking to his Mom about it. She has just made a warm cup of hot chocolate and has brought out the cookie jar just in case. The Cup says "2 Warm 2 Cozy". It's merch for the movie 2 Warm 2 Cozy. It's not as good as The Warm and the Cozy but considerably better than most of the sequels. Although the Fate of the Warm has some fans. The cookie jar has "COOKIE JAIL" written on it. Liam: I don't know why I can't smile like everyone else. Thank you. Liam is polite. Panel 2 Liam: It doesn't feel right when I force it. Like I'm a robot that's pretending to be normal. Liam imagines himself as a robot. Liam-Bot is a pretty cool robot but not who Liam wants to be. Panel 3 Liam: Then people think I'm upset when I'm not. My face just doesn't show it. Panel 4 Fern holds a hand to her face in contemplation. Liam leans down and rests his head on the table. Liam: Why is being happy so much work?
