One piece is a show all about liberation and true freedom from the corrupt system that has oppressed and divided those around us. Luffy is the embodiment of that freedom and is shown to draw others to him whether pirate or marine. It shows us that despite affiliations two people on different sides can fight for a common goal and no human should be defined by the side they align themselves with but by the content of their character and the good of their hearts. We have dreams and ambitions that drive us down separate paths. Luffy is also not afraid to punch Nazis and slave owners.
