"Sis?" The soft rumble of her brother drew her attention from the books before her but she knew that tone he was using, the she knew she'd have to count slowly to ten. As she finally looked up, the larger miqo'te gave her a sheepish grin, head shrinking just a bit into his broad shoulders. She sat back, drawing in a deep breath, his name already on the tip of his tongue before his large hands moved to pull his sidebag off shoulder — the squirming sidebag she hadn't noticed at first. He placed it down onto her desk, the heavy scent of the salt and sea and whatever he had caught earlier hanging onto the thick canvas.
