She did want kids, obviously. Hey, how are you today? I've been better. I didn't sleep well, so I'm a bit lightheaded. At least I hope that's the cause. I maybe haven't been keeping up with my medications as meticulously as I could. But then, that might be obvious from my clear abuse of the alt text function. Anyway. Mad Men is pretty good, but my partner watches it every year, so I probably don't appreciate it as much as I might if I just watched it once, remembered only the good parts and filled in the rest with a hazy memory of half-remembered zingers and delicately poised cigarettes. Or that bit with Roger Sterling in blackface. Yikes. But those were the times, I guess is the point. Or, I mean, it's also the point that he was kind of a racist, as we saw with the episode with the Japanese businessmen. Not kind of; full-on racist. Gosh, Cooper was pretty racist too, but against black people. He had some weird fetishization of Japanese culture that was kind of big in the 50s with all those sukiyaki restaurants and whatnot. That kind of fetishization hasn't really gone away, has it? I think particularly here of what we'd derogatorily call "weeb" culture. It's in a weird cultural moment, now that I think about it. The abuses of Japanese gaming and anime industries are coming to light, and people are having to reconcile that with their own voracious appetites for their products. Do you continue to consume the products because you want to offer what little support you can to those at the bottom? Do you boycott and pirate to continue to have the access you desire without propping up an abusive system? Are you maybe just trying to justify not spending money? I guess that's a personal decision. Anyway, I guess the point is, don't abuse accessibility functions, and "donnybrook" is a funny sounding word.
