In my dreams I live out those summer days, the golden rays of light tapping on my window, bringing me peace. I saw that shadow then, on the horizon, yet I knew I was home, I was safe, I was whole. I see that shadow now, no longer a distant mirage, it’s clawing at me, calling me into the mist, over those moonlit fields, through the flowers which my grandmother loved so much. Yet I still feel the light of the sun on my face, so I lay down to rest. Am I a fool?
