I think the article is wrong. The earth rotates on it's axis once every 23 hours 56 minutes 4 seconds. It gets one "rotation:sunrise-sunrise" per year relative to the sun because of it's orbit. If it didn't rotate on it's access at all we would still experience one day.
Longest day surely? Or shortest July 25th of July of X previous 25ths of July.?
I'm inclined to believe that the out of control CO2 levels contaminating our atmosphere is thinner and lighter than normal air. That makes the Earth spin faster due to less resistance against space in addition to the obvious fact that a hotter Earth becomes lighter which would increase our speed.
And of course the shortest year in 2020s. As a matter of fact 2020s was shorter than 2010s due to the pandemic.
