This is unsurprising. Full Moons (the only phase susceptible to an eclipse) always happen two weeks after solar eclipses (which require a New Moon). And half a lunar cycle is often not enough time for the Sun, Moon and Earth to come fully out of the planar alignment necessary for an eclipse.
