Are the deep blue and greens seen in thick, clear ice also caused by the same mechanisms as deep water? I've always found these colors so intense and am wondering if they also fall outside the srgb/p3 color space.

I bet they are. I'll try to find some spectrophotometry data and check.
Old ice gets more lattice-like internationally (crystalline structure). Snow looks white because scattering is kinda random. But my assumption that the ice was also caused by scattering was apparently wrong, this lattice apparently puts pressure on the chemical bonds (same as deep water blueness)
