Prairie Petunia (Ruellia humilis) is a small and pretty purple flower with a horn like shape. The plant is low growing to maybe about 18 inches tall and have leaves that remind me of Hackberry trees but smaller.

These are a fixture of life in Oklahoma, and many a summer day has been spent in huddled into a blanket insulated room trying to keep cool like an inverted campfire. These units are cheap, and will cool the holy shit out of at least one room in your house. Some people use them as an supplement to an old central air system, or in absence of HVAC.
