It’s makes me proud to know that we have once again fulfilled that promise and this officer will return home to his family and fight another day. I was a pilot in the Army and I knew we would stop at nothing to get me home.
Now if they’d only honor their pledge to defend our country from enemies HERE and abroad.
I am honestly torn. My grandfather was an honorable man. I assumed he served honorably in the German army in 1942-1945. There has not been a single day in my life that I felt pride or gratitude for his service in an unjust war. Maybe wars are just the worst of humanity.

Why did the pilots agree to be part of an illegal war? Rescuing them was a cost that didn’t need to occur. Like idiots that go mountain climbing or extreme skiing and need rescue.

Why aren't they identifying this pilot? How did he manage to walk 110 miles in two days with an injured ankle in rough terrain? So many questions ....
Do y'all know how difficult this was, and how much of our own equipment (aircraft) were destroyed, some by our own forces to keep it out of enemy hands? Yeah, we got him back, but it was a pyrrhic victory at best.
