Wait... I'll do you one better. What if we follow your lead here but instead truncate the axis based on the lowest data value - it happens to be shared by 3. This means we can interpret any missing pixel along the x as the lowest value! This results in a 1:4 ratio for this dataset...

Since you are making assumptions about what the reader knows (axes, weird encodings), then if you also assume the reader is already familiar with the points, show an empty image. 1:0

I would suggest that the gridlines are superflous--the width of the empty columns and rows is implicit in the size of the squares themselves.
