i just had a moment while listening to a particular song i used to love, which felt very strange to me. not too long ago, a little less than a year ago, this song resonated extremely strongly with me. it felt like a perfect reflection of my frustrations about how my world felt at the time. it tapped into this feeling of stuckness, of paralysis, of monotony. i listened to it on loop, over and over. it felt like exactly what i needed to hear in that moment. but i came back to listen to it today, and even though my life circumstances seem largely unchanged from that short time ago... i didn't feel that same resonance at all. I still really like the song, but... somehow something is different with me now. it fascinates me. i think this song provided me with a frame of reference to recognize a change in my outlook that I otherwise would not have noticed. It's difficult to pinpoint why. perhaps due to the broader state of everything, my frustrations have shifted elsewhere?
