This is also a reference to the original idea of drawing an unicorn using TikZ from "Sparks of Artificial General Intelligence" paper/presentation. TikZ effectively is the same as SVG (vector graphics), but TikZ cannot directly render in the browser, so SVG is more popular and Simon loves Pelicans.
