If you view Brexit as the cause of all the political and social problems in the UK then reversing it as quickly as possible makes sense. If you view all the political and social problems in the UK as the cause of Brexit then it cannot be reversed unless those are addressed and resolved first.

I can’t get past the paywall but the lead makes me think the author is writing about the “how” and its pace of rejoining. Fair challenges, but not a reason to say rejoining is unnecessary or unrealistic.
