heat pumps use less electricity (which is nuclear anyway) than any other type of heating, and A/C units ARE heat pumps.
Question @financialtimes.com is missing is whether electricity grids are capable of supporting the additional necessary capacity, not to mention how long grid upgrades would take or whether sufficient generation is available. Fundamental
