First picture I feel somewhat happy with in recent times. My back doesn't hurt anymore. It helps so much. Mentally I'm doing well too. Still a long way to go with losing some weight and building self confidence, but I'll keep working on myself.

My mother bought this cheap electric fly swatter. It makes the most wonderful electrical sizzle noise. Two metal strings are touching. I'm almost sad to fix it because I love that noise. ^-^

The Frog and Mouse Part 1 - English Broadside Ballad Text as given in "John Clare and the Folk Tradition" by George Deacon, 1983, Sinclair Browne. This is the Anthony Rowley version which was popular in England and also known in the New England region of America and in Canada.
Ragwort (Jacobaea vulgaris, Jakobs-Kreuzkraut in German) John Clare (1793–1864), a 19th century English poet, wrote the following poem about it: Ragwort thou humble flower with tattered leaves I love to see thee come and litter gold… Thy waste of shining blossoms richly shields The sun tanned sward in splendid hues that burn So bright and glaring that the very light Of the rich sunshine doth to paleness turn And seems but very shadows in thy sight.
"John Clare and the Folk Tradition" by George Deacon. Released in 1983 by Sinclair Browne. As a folk song enthusiast I had to get a copy of this old book. It contains all the song texts and fiddle and dance tunes John Clare collected along with a transcript of the Helpston Mummers' Play and excerpts of the original manuscripts.
ドンキーコングの音楽遊び (Donkey Kong no ongaku asobi, or “Donkey Kong’s Fun with Music“) The Famicom had a built-in microphone included in the Player 2 Controller which would've been used in the Donkey Band Karaoke game mode. The NES never included a microphone and the songs included in the game are aimed at a Japanese audience. It seems unlikely it would've gotten a release outside of Japan. It was to be the third in a series of educational Famicom games which included Donkey Kong Jr. Math and Popeye no Eigo Asobi (Popeye's English Fun). Just for fun I tried the Kraftwerk Minimum-Maximum DVD on a 90s Sony Trinitron CRT TV. It's cool that it works. I like this. :3 For Kraftwerk the lack of colour doesn't hurt the experience. I'm surprised the NTSC DVD works at all on a PAL TV. I'll try the NES next. 🦊
Watching a thunderstorm in the distance while standing on a field perhaps isn't the brightest idea. But it was fascinating to watch for a few minutes. I'm on my way back home now. On the bright side, my back is doing better after that walk, and I had a good time. I'm happy. 🦊☔️⛈

Super lo-fi Grundig reel to reel tape recorder :3 I got two of them from my grandfather. One plays too slow, the other is fine. I have a microphone too. It'd be fun to intentionally make a low quality recording with it.

A photo of my Arturia MicroBrute Analogue Synthesizer with a bottle of cleaning alcohol next to it. The rubber knobs on the synth became sticky over time. A common issue with the rubber coating material. Humidity, high temperatures etc. may accelerate it. Using 99.9% Isopropanol Cleaner Alcohol I was able to remove the stickiness.

Kraftwerk - Kohoutek - Kometenmelodie synthpop / electronic music 7" vinyl single released in 1973 by Philips. This is from the Ralf & Florian era, when Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider worked with legendary music producer Conny Plank. The song Kometenmelodie was later reworked and included on the Autobahn album in 1974 but this early version is quite different. It fits the term Kosmische Musik / Cosmic Music which was used for early German electronic ambient style music. Notably this was the last official Kraftwerk release to use the pylon / traffic cone logo in Germany. A French Kometenmelodie 2 7" from the Autobahn era and various compilations by Philips still used it later. But this is the last release by the band itself to make use of it.

It'd be a beautiful day if we didn't have US fighter jets practice divebombing over our village. Almost daily military planes start from Ramstein Air Base and terrorise West Germany. They fly over Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. I wish the Americans would leave us alone.

Resting spot on a hike through the countryside in West Germany on a summer day early in July 2026. I really like this spot and come here often to relax and listen to music and watch the sunset. Not many people make the effort of walking all the way up here from the nearby village.
Bunch of flies on a black locust (false acacia) twig. I just found it interesting that they all settled on that one twig. Black locust is an invasive species in Europe and a pretty nasty plant all around. It's poisonous, thorny and almost impossible to get rid of.
I found a mysterious blue Stop 'n' Swop egg. Unfortunately it was broken already, so I'll never know what secrets it contained. :P

Gall formed by a fly, the beech gall midge (mikiola fagi), on a beech tree leaf.
This large beech tree broke during the recent thunderstorm when the heat wave ended. The wood was already damaged by insects and fungi. It hit and partially destroyed a resting bench which was built there a few months ago.
