I'd like to imagine it's warm in there, possibly by the wires-

maybe the bloodshed, but nonetheless warm.

I'd like to think they're happier in there than they'd ever be out here-

where the metal is far more cold.

I'd like to consider if death hurts-

or if it’s something I shouldn't think about.

I'd like to hope it's their paradise-

because the way back to Heaven is littered with glass.

I’d like to believe I am destined for greater pastures-

but the world I am in threatens to meet them.
