They could have simply just inducted Phish.
Here's a thought: Run the voting as you normally would and guarantee that the artist that does the best in the Fan Vote without being a "normal" inductee is added to the ballot. Since they never reveal the results, they never have to say who got in via the Fan Vote instead of the ballot.
How about making the final results of the fan vote count for something more than one vote among thousands instead...
partially related but might be a hot take but i don’t ever want the most fan voted artist to automatically get in like some suggest,that’s how we would end up with creed or someone like that in and that’s a big No for me.
It mentions an app. I did find an app called Rock Hall Insider which has a review from four years ago but after the initial screen just goes white. While there’s a metaphor or joke there, if they want the voting done through an app they’ve got to fix the app soon.
Don't tell me this is one of the reasons why they're holding off on the ballot announcement.
