# Maybe Apple is an AI dark horse? Apple has been slow, at least publicly, to advance its AI efforts, but I think there’s something big on the horizon. As of iOS 14, apps can more easily donate intents, custom intent UI, and parameters, to make it possible to seamlessly execute in-app actions from outside of the app. It was a big leap forward to make Shortcuts easier. But what the change was also about AI? Imagine: - An on-device generative AI - Kept secure and private - That knows every intent from across the OS and apps Every action in every app becomes a Lego block, strung together with generative AI, to build complex, multi-app commands, constructed on-the-fly with a single-phrase. 🤯 Even our own construct of what it means to use an app might change. I wonder what kinds of apps will win, and which ones lose out, in such a world… This is going to get weird. 😎
