Letterboxd Review: Step aside Elphaba! Wicked’s grandest feat is it’s brief featuring in the best villain origin story of our time. Twisted revolves around a kingdom in turmoil - led by an incompetent King, threatened by a spoiled princess, and cursed by a tragically orphaned theif - kept afloat only by the royal vizier. Ja’far shines as a misunderstood hero, sworn to protect the citizens that belittle him and twist his legacy to fit a different narrative. Combined with a unique soundtrack, perfect performances, and an epic premise, this may be my favorite YouTube musical I’ve seen! It’s all Ja’fars fault then that I gave this it’s 5/5.
